This book reflects the preliminary results of archaeological research in the Karatepa Buddhist center in Old Termez by a joint expedition of the Fine Arts Institute of the Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the National Research Institute of Cultural Heritage of the Republic of Korea (2011-2014). In the course of joint work, was discovered the earliest monumental Buddhist stupa with a round base, known in Central Asia. The stupa is dated to the middle of the 1st  century AD.
